So this is one of my favorite recipes, squid teri-yummy (I'd rather call it teri-yummy instead of teriyaki haha). You can make your own squid teri-yummy by trying my recipe. You'd better cook it well, else it will be squid teri-yucky haha..

Ingredients:
1 kg squids, take out the ink and tentacles so you will have clean meat only
5 spoons of teriyaki sauce (i use instant teriyaki sauce here)
salt, pepper, sugar
3 red chilis, cut cross wise (or you can use 1 bell pepper)
2 onion leaves, cut cross-wise
1 onion, dice
3 cloves of garlic, mash
2 spoons of vegetable oil
5 spoons of tomato ketchup
1 cup of water

Directions
Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a skillet, diced onion, and then put the mashed garlic in. add the chillis.

Put the squids in. Add ketchup, teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir thoroughly. Add water. Don't use too much water as the squids will release water. I dont really like my teri-yummy to have too much liquid in it. Wait until the mixture is perfectly cooked. Sprinkle the onion leaves before you take it out and serve it.

Now your squid teri-yummy is ready. Itadakimasu!

Bahan:

  • Biskuit kalengan, mereknya terserah. Dihancurkan, kemudian haluskan pakai blender.
  • Coklat dilelehkan.
Cara membuat:
Campur biskuit dan kacang, tambahkan susu cair, coklat, dan mentega, aduk rata. Kalau sudah rata, buat bola-bola sambil dikepal-kepal agar padat. Beri lapisan coklat leleh (coating), lalu taburkan meses. Simpan di kulkas.

Tidak perlu ditambah rhum karena biskuitnya sudah wangi. Tidak perlu ditambah gula juga, semua sudah manis. Kalau kurang manis pandangi foto saya saja. Halah.

That's all?? Yep, that's all. Mudah bukan?? (bukaaannnn!)

Selamat mencoba!

My Mom's Lumpia

This is a picture of lumpia. It is a kind of spring roll with bamboo shoot filling. Believe me it is yummy!! My mother cooked that, and i helped her wrap the filling in the pastry.

Ingredients:
2 table spoons of vegetable oil
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
250 g peeled shrimp
500 g bamboo shoot, canned or boiled, julienne cut*
1/2 tea spoon of ground pepper
salt
sugar
2 eggs
1 onion, sliced
spring roll pastry

Instruction:
How to make the filling:
Heat spoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a skillet, saute chopped onion and garlic. Add shrimp. Put the bamboo shoot and spices (salt, sugar, pepper).

Break the eggs into a bowl, then add it to the bamboo shoot mixture. Cook until it is done.

How to wrap the spring roll:
Put one spring roll pastry, add two spoons of filling, wrap it like envelope. Use egg white to stick it.

Final step:
Deep fry the spring rolls until they are golden brown.

At least that is how my mother cooks it.

*A julienne (also called a "matchstick") is a type of cut that makes a long thin strip. It's a good technique to use for vegetables and other ingredients when you want to heighten their presentation. (see more about julienne cut at http://www.ehow.com/how_13876_julienne-vegetables.html)

Bon Appetit!

This is my special spaghetti recipe. My sister's fave. I will share it for you guys. You can use your own measure. You can put more sugar if you like it sweet, put chili sauce if you like it hot, whatever. Cooking is about feeling, haha.

Spaghetti ala Nina

Ingredients
spaghetti
a bowl of corn (shredded or canned)
2 sausages, cut round
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
salt
freshly ground pepper
sugar
2 spoons of oregano
5 meatballs, sliced or diced
1 spoon of corn starch
1 cup of tomato paste
5 spoons of tomato ketchup
vegetable oil

Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add also 2 spoons of vegetable oil. Add the spaghetti and cook until it is al dente, about 10 minutes. Drain and toss the spaghetti.

Heat 2 spoons of vegetable oil
over medium-high heat in a skillet, saute chopped onion and garlic. Put tomato paste and tomato ketchup. Add corn and a cup of water. Cover the skillet for a while and let the mixture boil.

Open the skillet cover, put sausages and meatballs in the mixture, add salt, sugar, pepper, and oregano. Stir thoroughly.

Put corn starch in a bowl, add water to dissolve it. Add this into the sauce mixture and stir thoroughly. The sauce is done.

Place the spaghetti in a serving platter and arrange the sauce on top. Put parmesan or cheddar cheese as you like. Serve immediately.

I don't have the picture right now, but I will try to take some next time I cook this again.
